Saddam Picked Up Tab For Dem Congressional Trip

On Wednesday the unsealed Justice Department indictment against Muthanna Al-Hanooti-a top official for a Detroit based Muslim charity called Life for Relief-reflects that Saddam Hussein’s principal foreign intelligence paid for a 2002 widely criticized visit to Iraq by three House Democrats.

Al-Hanooti is charged with conspiring to act as an agent of the Iraqi government, violating the International Emergency Economic Powers Act by illegally obtaining the Iraqi oil contract, and three counts of making false statements to FBI agents.

Al-Hanooti, who was arrested at Detroit Metropolitan Airport Tuesday night after returning from a trip to the Middle East is said to have planned and organized the trip of House Democrats Jim McDermott of Washington State, Mike Thompson of California and the now retired David E. Bonior of Michigan.

All three congressional members making the trip were against a war with Iraq and McDermott charged that President George W. Bush was willing to "mislead the American people" about the need for war.

Republicans blasted the delegation members at the time claiming that they sounded like spokesmen for the Iraqi government. Apparently their reflections were not too far fetched.

US Policy Bill Condemns Palestinian Attacks Against Israel

The House Committee on Foreign Affairs is now reviewing a bill (H. Res 951) that would condemn Palestinian extremist rocket attacks against Israeli communities such as Sderot and Ashkelon and supports Israel’s effort to justly respond.

U.S. Congressman Scott Garrett (R-NJ) who proposed the bill has released the following information regarding the bill's intentions.

Washington, Feb 25 -

Dear Friends:

Last week, residents of the Israeli community of Sderot organized a peaceful protest in Tel Aviv. Individuals set up tents in the Rabin Square to raise awareness of the continued rocket attacks they have been forced to endure. The protesters have already been visited by Israeli mayors and council heads, and more officials are expected to attend. The Sderot residents have pledged to continue protesting until they get the attention of local and world leaders.

As I’ve stated before, I’ve cosponsored a resolution condemning the terrorists and the Governments of countries that have aided them in these attacks. These violent terrorists must be stopped and held accountable for their inhumane actions. Intelligence sources tell us that Iran and Syria have both provided the technical expertise necessary for Hamas to launch rockets.

My bill, H.Res 951, has already gained large bipartisan support. There are currently 132 cosponsors, including former Chairman of the Financial Services Committee Rep. Tom Lantos. H.Res 951 is expected to be addressed by the Foreign Affairs Committee this week. I hope that the committee can agree to the fact that Congress can’t waste anymore time, we must stand up for the victims in Israel by bringing this bill to the floor.

Sincerely,

Scott Garrett
Member of congress
Review by the committee is the final stage before the bill is taken to the floor for a vote. A list of committee members and their contact information may be obtained here.

Constituents may contact their indivdual representatives to request support here.

Obama's Terrorist Ties

Senator helped fund organization that rejects 'racist' Israel's existence

JERUSALEM – The board of a nonprofit organization on which Sen. Barack Obama served as a paid director alongside a confessed domestic terrorist granted funding to a controversial Arab group that mourns the establishment of Israel as a "catastrophe" and supports intense immigration reform, including providing drivers licenses and education to illegal aliens.

New Tribunal Process To Begin for 9/11 Nut Jobs

The Pentagon announced on Monday that it will seek the death penalty in a military tribunal against six suspects accused of planning and organizing the Sept. 11 attacks.

Under original tribunal guidelines, the military had the right to exclude defendants from trial, allow consideration of statements made under intense interrogation and disallowed appeals by suspects to an independent court.

The U.S. Supreme Court struck down the system in 2006 after Congress enacted a new law that has given the defendants additional rights.

Thanks to a terrorist coddling Congress, terror suspects now have the same rights as U.S. soldiers tried under the military-justice system, including the right to remain silent, call witnesses and know the evidence against them. Their appeals can now go all the way to the Supreme Court.

The defendants include Khalid Sheik Mohammed who is accused of being the Sept. 11 mastermind. The remainder are Mohammed al-Qahtani who officials have labeled the 20th hijacker along with fellow henchmen Ramzi Binalshibh, Ali Abd al-Aziz Ali, Mustafa Ahmad al-Hawsawi and Waleed bin Attash.

Kevin Lanigan, the director for the Human Rights First law and security program, admitted that the prosecution of the suspects was well overdue but that the allegations of "torture" (a.k.a waterboarding) will complicate matters.

The accused — who were given food whenever they were hungry as well as Starbucks coffee at the Defense Department's Guantánamo Bay prison —have made various allegations of torture.

Thank you Congress and activist judges. You guys make us feel so safe.

Pakistan's Stock Falls Due To Instability Fears

Pakistani stocks has fell around 4.7 percent Monday as fears from investors arose that political instability could damage the $145 billion economy.

"This was inevitable," said Asad Iqbal, managing director at Ismail Iqbal Securities Ltd. "Most small investors are trying to get out due to the events of last week."

The death toll has risen since Bhutto's killing and the U.S. fears more capital loss for allied Pakistan if security grows worse.

Now is the time for the free world to support Pakistan's government and encourage trade witin the country. A weakened Pakistan equals a blow to democracy and the war on terror-which is exactly what the terrorist prefer. In fact, it is one of their main objectives.

Pakistan's Terror Crisis Reaches Beyond Nation's Borders

The former prime minister of Pakistan, Benazir Bhutto has been murdered by an terrorist who shot her in the neck and chest after a campaign rally and then blew himself up.

As President Pervez Musharraf called for prayers and solidarity of the nation, Bhutto's supporters erupted in anger and grief after her killing, attacking police and burning tires and election campaign posters in several cities. At the hospital where she died, some smashed glass and wailed, chanting slogans against President Musharraf.

“Pakistan and the nation faces the greatest threat from these terrorists. I, on this tragic incident want to express my resolve, and also seek solidarity from the nation, their cooperation, also to stand by me, that we will not rest with peace, until we eliminate these terrorists, and root them out,” said President Musharraf.

Pakistan's democracy was already on shaken ground due to the recent temporary suspension of civil liberties by President Musharraf after he declared a state of emergency on Nov. 3. Musharraf declared the action necessary to fight terrorist activities but many saw it as an elaborate ruse to secure another term in office.

Musharraf ended emergency rule Dec. 15 and subsequently relinquished his role as army chief, as key opposition demand.

Bhutto had been an outspoken critic of Musharraf's imposition of emergency rule. However, Al Qaeda has been trying to kill Ms. Bhutto for decades. She has been the target of assassination attempts by Al Qaeda before.

Bruce Riedel, a former defense and intelligence official who helped make South Asia policy in the administrations of George H.W. Bush and Bill Clinton says he believes Benazir Bhutto's assassination "was almost certainly the work of Al Qaeda or Al Qaeda's Pakistani allies."

"Their objective is to destabilize the Pakistani state, to break up the secular political parties, to break up the army so that Pakistan becomes a politically failing state in which the Islamists in time can come to power much as they have in other failing states," said Riedel.

U.S. President George W. Bush, speaking briefly to reporters at his ranch in Crawford, Texas, demanded that those responsible for the killing be brought to justice.

"The United States strongly condemns this cowardly act by murderous extremists who are trying to undermine Pakistan's democracy," Bush said.

The potential of a nuclear armed Pakistan being overrun and controlled by an Islamic gang of thugs such as Al Qaeda is not only a threat to the U.S. and her allies but the entire free world.

President Musharraf sent up prayers to his God for the people of Pakistan. “May Allah help and support us and our nation,” he said.

Now is the time for Americans to turn their hearts and prayers to their God for the people of Pakistan.

Terror Suspect of U.S. Bound Planes Escapes In Pakistan

The Pakistani Government said on Tuesday, December 18 that Rashid Rauf, a British Pakistani arrested in 2006 for his alleged role in the plot blow up planes entering the U.S. from the U.K. has escaped.

According to reports, Rauf escaped on Saturday evening while he was being taken back to Rawalpindi’s Adiala prison after a bail hearing in the Islamabad district courts.

Investigators have discovered that Mr Rauf left court in his uncle’s car, accompanied by two police officers, and was allowed to stop at a fast-food restaurant for lunch before going on to a mosque to pray.

The two officers waited in the car while Mr Rauf and his uncle, Mohammed Rafiq, entered the prayer room, but when they failed to emerge, the officers discovered that the men had escaped through the back door.

Investigators believe that the police escorts must have unlocked the suspect’s handcuffs to allow him to pray.

The policemen are now facing charges of negligence and for helping Rauf to escape from police custody.

“We have one or two very good leads. Agencies are working on the leads and are very sure that the culprit would be apprehended soon,” said Pakistan's Interior Minister Lt Gen Hamid Nawaz.

Be sure to watch for this guy on a plane near you!

The New-clear News On Iran

As liberals prepare to sit around the campfire and sing Kumbaya with President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad of Iran, it is time for a reality check.

There are some facts that have not changed regarding Iran.

Iran has sponsored terrorism against U.S. soldiers fighting the war in Iraq.

Arms believed to have been manufactured in Iran as recently as last year have turned up in Sunni-majority areas as well as in the hands of Shiite extremists.

Iran obviously has nuclear ambitions.

In Feb. 2003, inspectors from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the United Nations nuclear watchdog agency, found evidence that Iran had secretly begun enriching uranium and it has continued to do so to date, regardless of warnings and sanctions.

Iran has proved that it has blueprints for nuclear warheads and even handed over some of the copies to the IAEA.

How did they get them? According to former US Justice Department official Mark Levin, at least some of these plans were provided by former U.S. President Bill Clinton in a harebrained scheme called Operation Merlin.

During Operation Merlin the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency under the approval of Bill Clinton turned over flawed plans for a "firing set" for a nuclear weapon to the Iranians through an unnamed scientist who was a defector from the Soviet Union.

The Russian was told by CIA officers that the Iranians already had the technology detailed in the plans and that the ruse was simply an attempt by the agency to find out the full scope of Tehran's nuclear knowledge.

But, contrary to orders not to open the packet, he added a note which made it clear he could help fix the flaws for money.

Mark Levin, director of the Landmark Legal Foundation, said that thanks to Clinton Iran was able to "leapfrog one of the last remaining engineering hurdles blocking its path to a nuclear weapon."

Iran is still lead by a total nut job.

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad of Iran, who denies the holocaust, has threatened to wipe Israel off the map on several occasions. He has also said that, “Anybody who recognizes Israel will burn in the fire of the Islamic nation's fury.” The only thing that could possibly bring about such a threat is a nuclear weapon.

Iran doesn't yet have Nuclear weapons. So what? Neither does Al-Qaeda at the moment or we would already be toast. That doesn't mean that they don't continue to be a terrorist threat that is actively seeking the opportunity to obtain them.

Romney Clarifies Stance On Muslims In Cabinet

According to a new CNN report Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney is disputing reports that he ruled out Muslims serving in his presidential cabinet if he is elected president.

Reports came as a result of an Islamic businessman claiming that he asked Romney at a fundraising event if he would be willing to appoint a Muslim to his presidential cabinet and that Romney responded that there was no need to do so.

It was also reported that Romney's national press secretary stated that "the governor does not believe that in order to effectively fight radical jihad you need to have Muslims serving in the Cabinet."

Romney had the following statements to give while campaigning in Florida.

“His question was did I need to have a Muslim in my Cabinet to be able to confront radical jihad and would it be important to have a Muslim in my Cabinet,” said Romney, “and I said, 'No I don't think you need to have a Muslim in the Cabinet to take on radical jihad any more than during the second world war we needed to have a Japanese American to help us understand the threat that was coming from Japan.

“The people who would be part of my cabinet is something that I really haven't given a lot of thought to at this point, but I don't have boxes I check off as to their ethnicity…instead I would choose people based upon their merits and their capabilities,” he added.

Republican presidential hopeful John McCain weighed in his opinion on the reports while campaigning in South Carolina.

“I think his comment is indicative of how he might govern and I think it's absolutely wrong,” said the Arizona senator. “You appoint the most qualified people for the job, no matter who they are, where they come from, or where in America, as long as they're citizens.”

As the story broke, the internet became a firestorm of comments.

Those on the left, whom would generally not support Romney to begin with, primarily claimed it to be hypocritical and bigoted.

Those on the right, which is a voting base from which Romney needs support, primarily expressed gratitude for a candidate's willingness to put national security ahead of the panderage to political minorities.

The prevailing opinion appears to now be that no one is happy in either direction.

How and if this will effect Romney in his primary bid remains to be seen.

Romney Says No To Muslims In His Cabinet

According to a CNN report Republican Presidential hopeful Mitt Romney says that there is no need for Muslims in his presidential cabinet.

An Islamic businessman claims that he asked Republican hopeful Mitt Romney at a fundraising reception about putting a Muslim in his presidential Cabinet and that Romney said that he cannot see that a Cabinet position would be justified' based on the percentage of Muslims in the U.S.

Kevin Madden, Romney’s national press secretary has said "At this point, we're not focused on what Gov. Romney's Cabinet might look like. But the governor does not believe that in order to effectively fight radical jihad you need to have Muslims serving in the Cabinet.'"

Now is the time to watch and see how many other conservative presidential hopefuls will be brave enough to put national security ahead of political correctness.

It is also the time to watch and see how many liberal candidates will break their necks to become the first to declare how many Muslims they will appoint to their cabinet if elected president.
