He is rolling out faith banners and stickers to combat the hijacking of the evangelical vote by the Republican party. Not all people of faith just blindly follow their party propaganda, in fact many still think and those do know its time for Change. Articles like this a re insult to people's intelligence, which is actually valued in some circles still.Gordonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15928169891916036902noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7008487317696293475.post-65279427723032647442008-09-21T02:04:00.000-04:002008-09-21T02:04:00.000-04:00I, too, never refer to him as such and find it dis...I, too, never refer to him as such and find it disturbing. However, a friend of mine calls him The One - a reference to Neo, a saviour type character, in the movie The Matrix - which I find more acceptable.MandyIDMIhttp://openid.aol.com/MandyIDMInoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7008487317696293475.post-80995242500595649022008-09-16T18:47:00.000-04:002008-09-16T18:47:00.000-04:00I'm not even sure what you are getting at here. Mo...I'm not even sure what you are getting at here. Most of the "messiah" jokes have been coming from the McCain campaign itself. They portray Obama in this light not because he has ever made any comments in this regard, but simply because he draws large crowds when he comes to speak (and also because they are hoping to stir up people like yourself with this messiah rhetoric).

As for your comments in regards to Obama's faith, isn't that the ultimate hypocrisy? Remember that in the same chapter you cite it also says "Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you."

You say "His stances, actions and administrative intentions are-more often that not-in direct defiance to the teachings of Christ." However, remember the second major tenet of Christianity "love your neighbor as yourself". Christ did this in his lifetime by caring for the poor and rejected. Try comparing Obama's social policy to McCain's and see whose is more "Christian".

Also, tags like "Obama Osama" are just childish. Are you playing at the fact that Obama's middle name is Hussein and that we should distrust him because that is a common Middle Eastern name and many people from that part of the world are Muslim? Disregarding the fact that this is clearly not true you must remember that Jesus himself hung out with people who were decidedly not Christian.

Also, what do you make of these...

http://bumperstickers.cafepress.com/item/christians-for-mccain-sticker-oval-10-pk/289939344

Just as bad as Obama by your measure.jamiequinthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12750768809455506728noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7008487317696293475.post-35383802194378231962008-09-16T15:31:00.000-04:002008-09-16T15:31:00.000-04:00The only other case where this term would be worth...The only other case where this term would be worth celebrating is if he were the Anti-Messiah or Anti-Christ. And even then it would be a happy event for Christians, but would mean the beginning of the end for the unbelievers.MInTheGaphttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16683964072100102242noreply@blogger.com
