"Queen Pelosi" Feeling The Pressure On Drilling

When Speaker of The House Nancy Pelosi adjourned the House for the summer, GOP house members continued to plug away on the issue of energy even as she literally turned the lights out on on them. Pelosi's refusel to call a vote on the issue of off shore oil drilling before recess left House Republicans debating the issue during unofficial sessions of their own making.

"Get off your boat tour," Rep. Marilyn Musgrave (R-CO) told an absent Pelosi. "Come back here and give us a vote."

On Sunday, Pelsoi told ABC, "the misrepresentation is being made that this is going to reduce the price at the pump. This is a decoy. It is not a solution."

Only one day later, she appeared to be waffling under the pressure of the GOP sessions and the will of the American people.

"Well, we can do that," Pelosi said during a interview on "Larry King Live." "We can have a vote on that. But it has to be part of something that says we want to bring immediate relief to the public and not just a hoax on them," she said.

"If Speaker Pelosi is truly sincere about having a vote on deep ocean oil and gas drilling to help bring down fuel costs, she should use her power as Speaker to call Congress back into session immediately and schedule a vote," said Rep John Boehner (R-OH).

With the waffling stances and the vacation-bound attitude of the Democratic party, sincerity and action may be too much for the American people to ask.
