Once again a Republican candidate is apologizing to Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama. This time no one did something as outrageous as calling the man by his name (Hussein). This time it was for something different.
"I'm going to tell you something: That boy's finger does not need to be on the button," Congressman Geoff Davis said during a speech at a dinner event in Kentucky. "He could not make a decision in that simulation that related to a nuclear threat to this country."
Davis, rightfully received praise from the audience after the remark but later came under fire from some who saw the reference to an African-American as a "boy" as racist.
After coming under fire, did Davis point out that he was referring to the same person who once talked about invading Pakistan but wants to sip tea with Iran? Did he explain that this statement has nothing to do with race but has everything to do with Obama's immature outlook and total lack of experience in foreign policy? No. Davis simply offered Obama an apology.
"My poor choice of words is regrettable and was in no way meant to impugn you or your integrity," Davis said in a letter to Obama. "I offer my sincere apology to you and ask for your forgiveness." See letter.
It appears to me that is time for some Republican politicians to stand up for the truth behind words and stop cowering under left wing pressure. Doing so helps separate the men from the boys.

This is too rich! Coming from the same people who claim this is not about Race. Go Figure.
But the comments of the Republican, in fact, showed the racist thinking that informs the whole ideology of Republicanism.
"showed the racist thinking that informs the whole ideology of Republicanism?"
Eric, I believe that you seriously need a history lesson regarding the origins and the ideology of the two parties.
You can start here.
Why MLK was a Republican
However I still encourage you to actually read up on your history and discover the issues of WHY and How each were founded. The truth may surprise you.
Why is it that when a politician DOES speak the truth, there's always some libber asshats calling him a racist for doing it??
