The state of Vermont did more than make winners of presidential candidates Barack Hussein Obama and John McCain on Tuesday. It went one step further to prove that the state is a cesspool of liberalism.
Brattleboro, Vermont passed a measure during the state primary to arrest President Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney for what they consider violations of the Constitution.
The passed article seeks to have police arrest Bush and Cheney if they ever visit Brattleboro or to extradite them for prosecution elsewhere-if they're not impeached first.
This useless measure has no legal standing or impact. It succeeded only in reflecting how some of the state's voters are truly out of touch with reality.
"Our town attorney has no legal authority to draw up any papers to allow our police officers to do so," said Town Clerk Annette Cappy, "but the gentleman who initiated the petition got the signatures (and) wanted it on the ballot to make a statement."
