A Vote For Huckabee Is A Vote For Who?

I can't tell you how many times over the last few days that I have heard the wimpy complaints of Romney supporters that a vote for Huckabee is actually a vote for McCain.

Over and over again, pundits on the blogosphere, radio and t.v. signed Huckabee's campaign-death warrant and practically begged conservatives to vote Romney due to their desire to defeat "Moderate McCain."

Once again, they were all wrong.

When Huckabee took the stage on Tuesday night to address his supporters, he summed up the situation quite well. "You know...over the last few days a lot of people have been saying this is a two man race," he said. " Well, you know what? It is and we're in it."

Huckabee swept the south including its larger delegate states, such as Georgia and Tennessee. Romney's biggest gains came from "gimme-states" such as Utah and Massachusetts.

In states like Missouri, it was only by a very narrow margin that McCain managed a win over Huckabee.

After "Super Tuesday", the identity of the true "spoiler" has become abundantly clear and his name is not Mike Huckabee.

This much is certain-- the Republicans are having a different primary process than the Dems simply because there are three front runners instead of two. I'm not sure it really helps them.

It would have been interesting to see what would have happened if it were just two of the candidates instead of three.

Personally, I think that the parties would be better served if they had some kind of ranking vote instead of a winner take all vote. That way you could actually express your preferences more accurately.

Huckabee has been underestimated every step of the way by both the mainstream media - but ALSO by the Republican establishment.

He is THE candidate to watch in the coming weeks.

GO HUCK!

Huckabee has been underestimated. He has also (since his numbers went up) been criticized by his opponents, the media, bloggers. How can people believe Romney is sincere after his flip-flops and not believe Huckabee? How can people believe McCain will secure our border? I also think it would be more fair if the primary was done all in one day nationwide and no states winner take all.

God's Will will prevail. Huck will get there if that is where God wants him to be. I feel that God has a specific job for Huckabee in the White House. We as his supporters need to untie and lift him up in prayer, both for strength, guidance, wisdom and endurance as well as to open the eyes of those who may be considering a vote for an opponent.

Very applicable verses Thomas! I suggest to everyone that supports Huck to look them up and to pray Psalm 5 on his behalf and claim the promise of Proverbs 2:7 for him.

Unfortunately, Huckabee has still only shown strength in the evangelical portion of the Republican Party. The conservative evangelical doesn't trust Romney's stand (conversion?!) on social issues and quite honestly are very uncomfortable with his Mormon faith. That has left the non-religious right to Romney and the rest of the party by default to McCain. There is a history lesson in this. I've written about it here.

I love Jesus, but I hate taxes. Huck proved he knows how to raise them.

And today, Thursday, Romney is GONE!!!

Now that Romney is out I would think most of his supporters would now support Huckabee. The reason I say this is because Romney and Huckabee are more aligned on some issues. Romney did say McCain would defend our border, did he forget his nickname, Amnesty McCain?
